The Peaceful Stars Learning Center

The Peaceful Stars Learning Center is a sacred space allowing children an opportunity to discover the wonder and beauty within themselves, where peace begins. They will explore emotions, learn skills in self esteem, use their talents, and appreciate their uniqueness. They will be given opportunities to engage in activities that will spread and promote peace within their community, their world, and their planet. Students will engage in fun, interactive, and hands on activities including games, arts and crafts, music, role playing, and activities that bring the learning experience to life. The workshops offered will be based on the following curriculum:

MINDUP CURRICULUM  BY THE HAWN FOUNDATION AND GOLDIE HAWN: A comprehensive evidence-based curriculum that fosters social and emotional awareness, enhances psychological well-being, and promotes academic success. The curriculum promotes and develops mindful attention to one self and others, tolerance of differences, and the capacity for all to grow as a human being and a learner. Students will learn about the brain and how it functions. They will gain insight into their minds and behaviors as well as those of the people around them.

LIVING VALUES BY DIANE TILLMAN AND DIANA HSU:  A values education program offering a variety of experiential activities to help children explore and develop 12 key personal and social values: Peace, Respect, Love, Responsibility, Happiness, Cooperation, Honesty, Humility, Tolerance, Simplicity, and Unity. Learning new concepts, sharing and thinking, and creating are combined with playing, art, singing, movement, and imagining.

BUILDING EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE BY LINDA LANTIERI & DANIEL COLEMAN: A curriculum focused on teaching students inner resiliency. A curriculum that teaches students how to quiet their minds, calm their bodies, and manage their emotions more skillfully.

It offers proven techniques for increasing self-esteem, improving concentration and awareness, and enhancing empathy and communication.

THE MINDFUL CHILD BY SUSAN KAISER GREENLAND: This workshop incorporates techniques of mindful awareness. It enables the students to pay closer attention to what is happening within themselves: Their thoughts, Feelings, and Emotions, so that they can better understand what is happening around them. These fun and friendly techniques will help students to build inner and outer awareness and attention. This will positively affect their academic performance, as well as their social and emotional skills.
We collaborate with public and private schools, churches, youth organizations, and home school centers. We will provide workshops and classes for students at your sight. We focus on themes that encourage and equip each student to develop peace making skills that enrich their lives, and the lives of those around them. It is our goal to eventually have a home sight, where students can come for after school workshops, field trips, and summer camp. Our programs, are designed for students in grades K-5, with special classes for toddlers and mommy and me classes. Our goal is to help each child celebrate inner peace, manage stress, and to become happier, kinder, and more compassionate human beings. Our workshops and classes are aligned with California core standards on Character education. For more information please contact executive director:
